Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins (born in Mexico) is an Mexican American broadcaster. She currently works for ESPN as a news anchor for SportsCenter and occasionally host SportsNation. Since 2016, Collins has joined ESPN. She is the daughter television journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta was bilingual since when she was nine years old. It is this skill that helped her get her first role as an Univision production assistant in Miami. In Miami, she worked with the producers of national shows such as Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. In St. Petersburg, she was then employed by the CBS station to work as an sports reporter. In 2009, the reporter relocated into Rio Grande Valley Texas where she was employed by KNVO TV 48 Univision as and Fox2 News. Reports on her show covered immigration issues, drug trafficking, and others on the Texas as well as the Mexico border. Also, she was an anchor and Spanish reporter at the newscast of 5 p.m. as well as anchor and reporter on the newscast of nine p.m. on English as well as an anchor and reporter for the newscast of 9 p.m. in English, as well Spanish reporter for 10 p.m. She also filled in for weather anchors, sports anchors and forecasters. She was then the anchor and reporter for Univision Dallas' Deportes 23. In the following years, she was given more responsibility. She wrote pieces for sports like the NBA, Dallas Cowboys' postseason, NBA ALDS ALCS World Series or Finals FC Dallas. She was the producer of Univision 23 Accion Deportiva Extra and was the anchor. The show was promoted to be a sports anchor for Despierta America Deportes' morning show. The same job was held as a sports anchor for Primer Impacto magazine and Contacto Deportivo for the UniMas Network. Antonietta's parents come from Veracruz Mexico. At some point they were moved from Veracruz Mexico to Mexico City where she was born on 22 November 1985. She has an older sister. In 1992 the family left Mexico for the US and eventually settled in Miami. In 1992, her parents divorced and shortly afterward in 1995 she was remarried Fabio Fajardo, an engineer in the naval sector who passed away in 2006 after suffering from kidney cancer. When on vacation Antonietta spent the time at the house of her sister Canton Ohio. Her older Collins brother had recently been offered a new job. Antonietta was a senior high school student and had a clear idea of her goals for the future. She went to Mount Union University in order to determine if they suited her. The campus was beautiful and offered the degree she wanted. Following the completion of her high school education, she was accepted into the university to study media studies. Her professor Mark Bergmann, who managed WRMU FM and was a member of her class, formed an ongoing relationship with her. The professor encouraged her to believe in herself and was deeply touched by his passion for journalism.
